3 Fun Easter Recipes

Easter for me always holds many memories in the kitchen and Hamish and I love to try new and exciting recipes over the holidays .

Here are 3 fun recipes that we will be trying this Easter.

Cake Mix Bunny Cookies

Ingredients

1 Boxed Vanilla Cake Mix

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 Eggs

Pastel Colored M&Ms ( or Smarties)

 

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking sheet.

2. Cut some of the M&Ms / Smarties in half. Then sort out as many sweets as you’ll need by color (1 whole M&M/ Smartie and 2 halves for each bunny).

3. In a large bowl, stir together cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil.

4. Scoop out a tablespoon of dough fir each cookie onto the cookie sheet.

5. Bake cookies 8-10 minutes until tge tops begin to crack and the edges feel just set.

6. Working quickly, drop a whole M&M/ Smartie onto each baked cookie, then add two M&M/ Smartie halves to make ears. Gently press the sweets into the cookie.

7. Add as many bunnies to each cookie as you would like.

8. Cool cookies on the cookie sheet for 3-5 minutes before removing to wire rack.

 

Bunny Bait

Ingredients:
2 cups pretzels-broken in pieces
5 cups of assorted crunchy Cereals
1 cup M&Ms / Smarties
½ cup sprinkles
1 1/2 cup white candy melts

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, mix the Cereal, pretzels, and sweets.
2. Place the candy melts in a microwave safe bowl.
3. Melt candy melts according to package directions.
4. Pour the candy over the mixture and stir until well coated.
5. Pour the mixture onto a piece of baking paper.
6. Top with pastel sprinkles and allow to set until hardened.
7. After the chocolate has set, break the mixture into pieces.

 

Easter Bunny Pretzels

Ingredients:

Pretzels

White Candy Melts

Pastel Colored M&Ms / Smarties

 

Instructions

1. Cut some of the M&Ms/ Smarties in half. Sort out as many sweets as you’ll need by color (1 whole sweet and 2 halves for each pretzel treat).

2. Preheat oven to 180°C

3. Line a baking sheet

4. Place the pretzels in rows on the baking sheet.

5. Put one candy melt on top of each pretzel.

6. Warm in oven for 2-3 minutes – you don’t want them melted, just softened.

7. Working quickly, drop a whole M&M/ Smartie onto each pretzel, then add two  halves to make ears. Gently press the sweets into the melty candy.

8. Allow candy melts to set completely.
