About:

Themba is hot and bored and kicks a plastic bottle along the dusty road.

UKhozi the fish eagle sternly calls down to him to pick up his mess.

Themba had no intention of picking up the bottle and so iKhozi explains how the plastic bottle is going to end up in the ocean.

He tells Themba that the rubbish in the rivers, estuaries and sea hurt our wildlife, dirty the beaches and add harmful chemicals to the water.

UKhosi takes Themba to meet Nogwaja the hare who was helping a heron remove a plastic ring from his neck, and to see iNkalankala the crab who was picking up polstyrene balls under the mangrove trees.

At the sea they see some Eco-warriors cleaning the beach and meet uFundu the turtle.

Together these beautiful animals teach Themba why he shouldn’t litter.

This is a wonderfully illustrated story to teach young children the dangers to our enviornament that litter poses.

At the back of the book are some helpful recycling tips for mom and dad as well some mot6e information to explain some of the vocabulary.
