This year all Hamish wanted to do was make his sister, Kerri a Build a bear for her birthday.

Build a bear came to his aid and sponsored him a visit to create his dream gift for her.

If you’ve been following us, even for a short while you’ll know just how much we love Build a bear teddy’s. Hamish has a wonderful growing collection on his bed and there is hardly a year that goes by that we’ve not helped him add to his pawsome friends.

What makes these bears so collectable?

It’s isn’t just the level of adorableness and variety of these good quality bears that appeals to us but also the relatability to his interests, and the characters he’s reading about or watching on TV.

How to make a Build a bear

If you’ve never made a Build a bear before , you really need to add this to your bucket list.

From walking into a toy shop of wonder, full with bright colours, friendly staff,magic stuffing machines and hundreds of fluffies waiting to be loved to life, you will also find a large assortment of teddy clothing and accessories to personalise your new paw friend.

To start you will need to choose a bear ….this is always the hardest for us, as we want them all.

Next you bring your bear to life by stuffing him and adding a heart that you have hugged and made a wish for. You also have the options to add sound and scent to your bears.

Once the bear is stuffed, they ready to go over to the dressing room to be dressed.

Then it’s time to name your bear and issue a birth certificate before he ( or she) is boxed up in a cardboard house that the kids can later colour, to go home.

The princess bear

Hamish was quite determined that no other bear would do. He wanted to make a princess bear for Kerri.

So he chose:-

• A dark brown birthday bear
• A pink birthday princess T-shirt
• Birthday crown
• Flowers

And to make it extra special he added a little gold heart.

I think she came out beautifully.

After bringing her to life with a special wish and hug, he named her and boxed her up to deliver her to his sister.

Kerri was absolutely delighted with her special bear. Made with love and delivered with care.

I can’t think of a better keepsake gift for a 21st.
