Capegate Shopping Centre’s Ice Rink is back in town from 14 June to 7 July 2024
Get your skates on as the Capegate Shopping Centre’s Ice Rink is all set to greet happy young feet (ages 3 to 13 years only) again when it glides into action between 14 June and 7 July these winter school holidays, and for what one young skater last year described as “the best place in the world”.
Situated in Bridge Court near Entrance 4, the specially created rink measuring 15 by 8 meters, and made with real ice, offers young skaters the perfect way to beat the winter blues and stay active. Family members can relax and watch the fun from the nearby seating area, however, adults are welcome to assist the little ones on the ice, if necessary. The centre’s highly skilled friendly staff will be keeping a watchful eye on the ice capades and are also available to lend a helping hand if needs be.
Marketing Manager, Zoë Ganz says, “We’re looking forward to welcoming back new and regular skaters this holiday. Running for its fourth time, the ice rink has proven to be a favourite amongst our future shoppers, and parents love bringing their kids, some while they get to do a quick shop as the youngsters are living their best lives on the ice.
“Just a reminder that although the skates are supplied as part of the ticket price, skaters must bring their own thick socks to wear inside the boots please.” (Of course, if these important accessories are forgotten, Capegate is stocked with lots of options to choose from).”
There are many benefits to skating aside from outright enjoyment of gliding on the ice that include building stronger joints and muscles, and improved balance and co-ordination, not to mention the positive emotional benefits of a good day out for all.

Sundays: 10am – 5pm (last session starts at 4pm)
