Halloween treats to make

Trick or treat

Smell my feet

Give me something

Good to eat …

Kids love going to Trick or treat and just like most holidays Halloween becomes another sugar rush as our kids collect and eat their way through their Halloween baskets.

So how do you encourage some healthy eating over Halloween?

By making a few of the treats I made bear this year. All of them require very little prep work and can be made in a few minutes.

Jack o citrus

You need:-

Citrus fruit

Black marker

To make:-

Draw a face onto the citrus fruit your child likes best.

I placed bear’s pumpkin in a field of popcorn.

Spooky suckers

You will need:-

Lolly pop

Toilet paper

Ribbon

Marker

To make :-

Fold the toilet paper over the lolly pop and fasten with a ribbon. Use the marker to draw on the face. These make BOO-tiful Halloween treats.

Monster peppers

You will need:-

Peppers

Knife

To make:-

Carve faces out of the peppers. I had great fun making these and they were a huge hit with the teens.

Ghoulish spider hands

You will need:-

Pop corn

Toy spider

Plastic glove

To make :-

Fill a plastic glove with popcorn. Push a spider in and tie. A basket full of these ghoulish treats will delight any little monster.

Banana ghosts

You will need:-

1 banana

Knife

Food colouring

Ear bud

Chopstick

To make :-

Cut the banana in half and use the food colouring with an earbud to draw on a face. Stick a chopstick into the banana

Vampire blood slushies

We used our Sinchies to freeze some mix up juice to make slushies.

To make the slushie remove from freezer early. For a lolly leave to freeze solid.

If you don’t have resealable pouches you can use a plastic bag.

You will need :-

Mix up juice

Redeemable pouches or plastic bags

To make :-

Fill wth pouch with juice and freeze.

Bear loved his treat tray of delightfully spooky treats and it took about 30 minutes to prepare for him.

Happy Halloween
