Help  Bring ‘Fynbos Flowers’ to Life as an Official LEGO Set!

South Africa’s Cape Floral Kingdom is a botanical paradise which is home to over 9,000 plant species.

Remarkably 8% of these plants are found nowhere else on Earth.

Inspired by our country’s rich biodiversity and leveraging his incredible creativity, local designer Christoff van Wyk, known to the LEGO community as @superstofbricks , has truly captured the essence of this unique flora in his ‘Fynbos Flowers’ set.

When asked about his inspiration for this project, Christoff says “I have always been inspired by our natural beauty. I grew up in the Western Cape and have a deep love for the fynbos flowers.

Lego’s botanical range has been hugely popular among adults, however I noticed they have not featured many South African flowers – which I found surprising. South Africa has some of the most iconic flowers in the world – many of them endangered – and I want to highlight this beautiful region.

I hope that my idea could be used to create interest and educate people about the Cape Floral Kingdom.”

Featuring iconic plants like the Bot River Protea and Erica Blenna, Christoff’s innovative and creative use of LEGO elements brings these flowers to life.

However, Christoff needs your support to turn this amazing creation into an official LEGO set.

By visiting the LEGO Ideas website and supporting the ‘Fynbos Flowers’ project, you can help bring a piece of South Africa’s natural beauty to LEGO enthusiasts worldwide.

Once the project reaches 10,000 supporters, LEGO will review it for potential production.

This floral initiative not only celebrates South Africa’s rich biodiversity but also showcases the talent and creativity of local designers.

Let’s come together to support this beautiful project and bring a piece of the Cape Floral Kingdom to LEGO enthusiasts around the globe.
