Ster-Kinekor: Great Moments at their Greatest
So much more fun on the big screen…

A special movie club for young movie goers is launching at Ster-Kinekor cinemas across the country over weekends during the month of September. Calling all two- to six-year-olds – and their families: we are inviting you to come and watch Disney Jr. Cinema Club,in association with Lego, to join some of your favourite Disney characters on the big screen for an hour of interactive fun, laughter, and activities.
“Introducing our younger audiences to the magic of the big screen with Mickey Mouse and his friends is the perfect cinema outing. And, with all the fun, music and interaction playing out in our colourful Kids Cinemas too, the kids can make as much noise as they like and sing and dance around the cinema because it’s their space!” says Lynne Wylie, chief marketing officer of Ster-Kinekor.
This cinema-exclusive family event designed for preschoolers brings a unique and interactive experience to cinemas with almost an hour of singing, dancing, and interactive games featuring some favourite Disney characters including Spidey, Ariel, Winnie the Pooh, Bluey and Superkitties. Everyone loves Mickey Mouse. He acts as the on-screen host guiding the youngsters through the different experiences via bespoke animation and is supported by South Africa’s Zanele Potelwa as the voice-over and narrator artist.
This cinema outing is the perfect interactive cinema experience featuring some of the best content from the much-loved Disney Jr. series.
Children will enjoy episodes of beloved shows, including Disney Jr. Ariel – The Little Mermaid, Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends, and Bluey, alongside short stories from Playdate with Winnie the Pooh, as well as songs and on-screen games from SuperKitties, Me & Mickey and more! It’s the perfect way for young viewers to watch – and play along with – their heroes on the big screen.
Releasing on 06 September, Disney Jr. Cinema Club will have two shows daily on Saturdays and Sundays until 28 September. Tickets are R80 each, and can be booked online via the new-look Ster-Kinekor website or at the self-service kiosks at the cinema.
