Beloved South African singer-songwriter MAJOZI today releases his uplifting new single, HOLD TIGHT, the third official single from his acclaimed 2026 EP, FLANNEL MUSIC.
Available on all major streaming platforms, HOLD TIGHT continues the warm, heartfelt storytelling that has become synonymous with MAJOZI’s music. Blending soaring melodies with an optimistic message of perseverance and connection, the track serves as a reminder to keep holding on through life’s uncertainties and to cherish the people who walk alongside us.
“HOLD TIGHT is really about those moments when life feels overwhelming and uncertain,” says MAJOZI. “It’s about remembering that you don’t have to carry everything on your own. The single follows the release of FLANNEL MUSIC earlier this year, a four-track collection that saw MAJOZI reflect on themes of nostalgia, home, growth, and connection. Written during a season of international travel and personal reflection, the EP was shaped while performing across South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.
“There was a lot of movement in my life while these songs were being written,” he explains. “Being away from home gave me a fresh perspective on what really matters. HOLD TIGHT came from that place of gratitude – for the people who support you, encourage you, and help you keep moving forward.”

The release of HOLD TIGHT arrives alongside another major milestone for the artist, with the announcement of his biggest self-promoted Johannesburg headline show to date.
On Sunday, 13 September 2026, MAJOZI will take over Sognage, Johannesburg for HOLY MOLY, IT’S MAJOZI IN JOZI – a family-friendly Sunday afternoon celebration designed to bring together longtime supporters, new listeners, families, and friends for an unforgettable day of music, connection, and community.
The event marks a significant moment in MAJOZI’s journey as an independent artist, following a remarkable period of growth that has included a sold-out Baxter Theatre performance, international touring across Europe, Abu Dhabi, New Zealand, and Australia, and the continued success of FLANNEL MUSIC.
“I’ve dreamed about putting together a Johannesburg show like this for a long time,” says MAJOZI. “I wanted it to feel bigger than just a concert. So many people have been part of this journey over the years, and this feels like an opportunity to celebrate together. Whether you’ve been listening since the beginning or you’ve only recently discovered the music, I’d love for you to be there.”
