- Cardboard boxes
- Scissors
- Paint
Method
Paint a shark onto a box.
Cut the mouth out ( don’t forget the sharp teeth)
Cut several fish from card and paint them.
Let your child post or feed the shark.
Alternative ideas
Ask your child to divide the fish into colours and feed only one colour at a time.
Cut various sizes and have your child feed the shark a big one, small one, middle sized one. Use other maths language like bigger than, smaller than, biggest, smallest, same, etc
Number the fish and feed them in numerical rider or only in 2’s, 5’s or 10’s
Write the initials to your child’s name on the fish and have them spell their name first and then feed it to the shark. Will work for other spelling words as well.
Write letters of the alphabet in both upper and lower case on the fish. Let your child match them first then feed the shark.
Use bean bags instead of fish and see who can. Throw theirs through.
