Creators gathered in beautifully Boho chic inspired outfits yesterday at the gorgeous Greenpoint Biodiversity Garden and Park to enjoy the SA Mom Squad meet up 2023.
We arrived to a beautifully adorned table cleverly decorated with a selection of Cape Town flora from Ilhaams Flowers in Canal Walk and littleWbees printed goody bag totes promising a rich delight of spoils.
I can’t resist a lovely bouquet of flowers and these pretty pink Protea were giving me all the boho picnic vibes.
About the day
The day was all about moms gathering together to celebrate a great day out ( without the kids), good company, fabulous food and some special spoils.
And as always when you get a group of content creators together, they will do what they do best.. create content!
It was great to catch up with the creators I know and to meet a whole handful of new amazing creators. These ladies are truly so talented.
After introductions, we grabbed our much anticipated goody bags and braving the infamous Cape winds, we set off to create content for the fabulous brands sponsoring the event.
In all the events I’ve been to, I’ve never seen a more ingenious way to get the attendees to both explore and give recognition to the brands and I personally loved this part of the event the most.
And each of us set off to find the right spot to get get our images, make reels, or upload content.
Goody bags
Is an event even an event without the promise of a goody bag?
For bloggers, influencers, and content creators, a goody bag is so much more than just a bag of spoils….
It’s an opportunity for them to create new content, discover and be discovered by new brands and in turn it’s a wonderful way for brands to reach new audiences, find new content creators, influencers or bloggers to work with and gain exposure for their products.
So…we take our goody bags really seriously!
Each bag contained :
- Catrice Mascara from Cosmetix_sa
- Gorgeous crochet daisy bucket hat from Baby More Crochet
- Mom Keychain from Mommamillions Online Store
- Hand cream & hygiene handwash from Bennetts for babies
- Cute bead Keychain from Chewy Clips
- My all time favourite bath bomb ( avocado ) from Lush
- So Pure cleaning samples from So Pure
- Photography voucher fromPhotography by Allyk
Food
After our content creation session we tucked into a lovely picnic style grazing box from MS Frozen Delights
Full of delicious fruit, veg, muffins, cheese straws, mini wraps and “out of this” world amazing mini burgers.
We were also treated to a mini cake slice from Sassy Bakes…OH My Word! You really want to be adding these to your next brunch.
Take a peek at how delicious these boxes were on my Instagram reel here
On top of these treats we enjoyed a platter of delectable sushi from Nuri sushi factory
I’m a huge sushi fan, but at the same time incredibly fussy about how I eat my sushi. Many times I’ve ordered sushi and it’s dry or the rice consistancy is so bad it falls apart as you pick it up to dip it in the soy sauce. This was perfect. It was fresh, and each morsal on this platter was more delicious than the one before.
It was a great day out, a wonderful way to meet new creators and catch up with our friends in the industry. We can’t wait for SA Mom Squad meetup 2024.
That’s a great idea to create content for the brands at the event!
Totally. Very unique and effective
