The benefits of teaching a child to play a musical instrument
The excitement is real in our house as Hamish woke to the ukelale he’s been asking for .
He has always loved music and recently started showing more interest in learning to play certain instruments and so we are slowly investing in a small set of musical instruments for him to discover and learn.
It started with me buying him a piano. I love the piano and learned to play a few songs when I was younger.
Hamish has taken to his piano lessons like a natural and is after a month playing his first songs.
Shortly after I bought the piano he was gifted an electronic keyboard by his brother Ronan.
And he has since added a recorder and the ukelale to his growing musical collection.
He also has a wish list that includes a melodica, guitar, accordian, harmonica and violin.
Thankfully there are no drums just yet on that list.
