An Egg-stra special breakfast

This morning breakfast is an Egg-stra special bunnylicious treat.

A cute little egg bunny and some dinosaur Easter eggs on a field of grass.

To make your own:

You need:

  • Markers
  • Half a toilet roll tube
  • 3 hard boiled eggs
  • Paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Paint brush or earbud
  • Food colouring ( red and blue)
  • Pear
  • Food grater

The Egg bunny

For your bunny cut the toilet tube in half and let your child decorate with markers as the bunny’s body. ( This also acts as an egg holder)

Place your eggs into boiling water and cook until hard boiled.

Remove one egg and peel.

Paint on the eyes and bunny mouth using a brush or ear bud and food colouring.

From paper cut a crown shape with two ears, glue to fasten and place this on the bunny’s head.

Dino eggs

For the dinosaur eggs, take the remainder of your eggs and lightly roll them on the counter to crush them gently.

Place these into a cup with food colouring.

Remove once the entire egg has been covered in colour and set aside to dry for a few minutes.

The colouring will seep through the small crack lines and when you peel your egg it will give the marbled look.

Pear grass

To finish off our egg- stravaganza I grated some pear as grass. You could also use apple if you prefer.

To finish

Place the grated pear onto the plate.

Put your egg bunny onto the pear grass and lay the dino eggs at his feet.

A lovely way to surprise the kids on Easter morning.
