Hamish loves the Free skatepark at Battery Park. If you haven’t visited it yet, grab the kids and their wheels and pack a picnic to enjoy on the lawn whilst visiting this urban park/sports hub.

This free, out door concrete facility is situated in Battery Park at V and A Waterfront and is open for the public to enjoy from 7am to 7pm.

Facilities

Battery park offers more than just a half pipe and a few skating ramps. Here families can enjoy :-
*Skate park – with a spine, pump hump, quarter pipes, rails and ledges for boards, scooters and BMX riders to enjoy.
*Soccer field
*Basketball court
*Urban park
*Mini jungle gym area for smaller kids

Things to know

*The park is accessible from Port Road
*There is ample,parking at the Battery Park parking garage
*Public toilets are avaliable
*The park is dog friendly
*There are benches avaliable for seating
*Several small businesses operate opposite the Canal and this includes a small grocer and cafe where you can buy refreshments.

Things to look out for 

Battery park was Commissioned by the V&A Waterfront and is situated on the grounds of the ruins of the Amsterdam Battery ( constructed in 1784) and was once a prison. You can view some great signage giving you more history as well as the old canons.
