Cadbury In Our Words initiative bringing children books in their own language

#InOurOwnWords

Did you know that currently 8 out of 10 children can not read with comprehension.

One of the reasons for this is a lack of access to reading books for children in their mother tongues.

In Africa, according to a 2016 survey by Publishers Association SA, only 2 % of children’s books published in South Africa are in African languages.

Cadbury have established a three- year Read To success initiative, with the intention to make books avaliable to children around the country in their own languages.

Cadbury and their partner Nal’ibali aim to create and translate a generous 1500 stories for children in their own languages by 2023.

And YOU CAN HELP …

  1. Hi, I’m salome running Mama Rabbit Initiative and I would like to be a volunteer in helping children especially those in living in slums and children’s homes because I understand what they usually go through.
