Cooking with McCain’s- mini smiley meat pies

Today I was going live on Instagram to share this deliciously cute mini pie recipe that will entice even the fussiest eater but unfortunately I completely messed up and couldn’t find the live setting.So, I made a video tutorial on InstagramAs promised, here is the recipe should you wish to make it yourself.

You will need:

250 g mince meatOil to frySalt & pepper1 cup McCain’s mix vegGravy powder1 x roll puff pastry1 pkt McCain’s smiles


Pre heat ovenFry your mince in a little oil, adding salt and pepper.Add your mix vegetables in a little water to your mince. Simmer until cooked.Add your gravy powder and simmer.Place to one sideRoll out your puff pastry, cut small circles using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.Place into a muffin tray , one circle per space. This is the base of your pie.Spoon a little mince into each pie base.You can add cheese on top of substitute the meat for fish, chicken or cream spinach.Place 1 x smile on each pie.Bake in oven at 180°C until golden.Serve as a snack, in a lunch box or with a salad for supper.
