It was a fun day full of excitement, games and fun activities for the kids.

Kids club outing 2026

This year, the kids club event was once again held at the gorgeous Assagaaibosch Nature reserve.

Families and school groups were treated to a fun morning learning more about Water.

With our Cape dams running low, this was the perfect theme to teach our children why to conserve water, what water is used for, and the many creatures in nature that rely on water to live.

We were also given a delicious morning snack of cold water, sliders and popcorn.

Lunch was a buffet of healthy wraps, chicken kebabs and fun deserts like honeycomb and delicious wafer ice cream comes filled with chocolate and marshmallows.

These were served with homemade smoothies or lemonade.

Many of the groups joined the potjie making competition and as we weren’t joining the potjie competition, I had packed a fun picnic.

In-between learning the fun songs, joining the activities and experiments the kids were given the opportunity to play freely on the playground equipment as well as discover the frogs, crabs and other critters in the little river.

Do kids really need anything more than large open spaces to explore?

And finally it was time for Kai, the cubs club mascot to visit. He entertained kids with his fun dance and took time to get a instant photo with each child.

This was truly the highlight of the day.

Lastly it was time for awards and for each child to collect their fun filled goody bag.

Once again, we had an exceptional time with a wonderful group of people out in nature.

I honestly can’t think of a better way to enjoy a Saturday.
