Hamish gets ready for Summer with Woolworths on Expresso Morning Show

The sun is rising earlier, the air is getting warmer, the spring flowers are starting to creep out of their Winter beds and Cape Town is alive with the anticipation of Summer on the horizon.

Yesterday Hamish joined the Expresso team to show off some of the lovely new pastel shades that Woolworths have in store for their Summer fashion lines.

Early morning castings

We are an hours drive from the Expresso Studio and so it was up early and out the door by 6.30am to get to set by 7.30am.

We however encountered such a traffic block trying to get out of Tableview that we were actually running late.

Thankfully his feature was only at 8.20am

At the Studio

Walking into the studio is always such a pleasure. Expresso is the friendliest working space.

As we were late, I rushed off to the dressing room with Hamish and got him ready. When I got back to the lounge area to wait, a steaming cup of coffee was waiting ….just what I needed.

Little friends

Hamish and Tatum got to meet prior to the show and spent some time letting us super proud moms get photos and challenging each other to a game of rock, paper, scissors.

Dressed up and looking increadibly stylish they were over their original shyness with each other, before they were called on set.

Lights, camera, action

And then it was time to shine. The fantastic producer, Lucian called the kids, walked them through their paces and they patiently stood waiting for Ryle and Taryn to call them over so that they could model off their Summer outfits.

All was going well until the kids got distracted by the giant screen infront of them and kept watching themselves.

No matter they still had a great time, looked amazing and delivered the cuteness factor.

Most importantly Hamish had fun, got to see some of his favourite people and met some new friends.

A note from this mamma

I say it each time I talk about Hamish’s experiences on Expresso …..the Expresso team are so friendly, warm and welcoming. They hold no pressure on the kids to ” perform” and are so patient.

We don’t want Hamish modeling or acting at a professional level right now, no matter how much he loves the stage, because I want him to be a kid and these magical moments on tv allow him the opportunity to let that big personality shine without the pressure.

Thank you Expresso for another fun morning.
