As a mamma i’m naturally super proud of all my children’s achievements and especially those that they have worked hard for as homeschoolers, so, it is always wonderful when people outside our home acknowledge and appreciate their achievements too.
Yesterday, we heard that Hamish won a Pick n Pay Hero Award and I couldn’t be prouder.
He was entered under the Environmental Awareness category as nature and looking after our Earth are important to him.
He spends as much time as he can encouraging other kids to not litter, join beach clean ups, learn more about animals and care about the Earth.
Making this award increadibly special and such a wonderful way to encourage and acknowledge my little eco hero.

The Pick n Pay Hero Awards programme is now in its fourteenth year!
The awards are an integral component of Pick n Pay School Club and celebrate everyday acts of heroism in our schools, such as:

- Selflessness
- Respectfulness
- Honesty
- Team player
- Environmental awareness
I love that not only are children acknowledged but they get to understand that Heroes are not just people that we read about in the news; there are heroes all around us.
