MAJOZI Releases New EP – FLANNEL MUSIC


Beloved South African singer-songwriter MAJOZI today releases his brand-new EP, FLANNEL MUSIC – a four-track collection that captures the warmth, nostalgia, and heartfelt storytelling fans have come to love.

Out now on all major streaming platforms, FLANNEL MUSIC features his 2025 fan-favourite single ‘You and I’, alongside three brand-new songs – including his latest radio single, the reflective and emotionally rich ‘A Long Time Ago’. Together, the tracks form a cohesive body of work rooted in simplicity, sincerity, and connection.

“I wanted this EP to feel like something you can return to,” says MAJOZI. “Like your favourite flannel shirt – it’s comfortable, it’s familiar, and it carries a bit of history with it. These songs are simple, but they’re honest, and that was really important to me.”

Written during a period of international travel and personal reflection, FLANNEL MUSIC was shaped while MAJOZI was performing abroad and experiencing new environments – a contrast that brought a deeper sense of perspective to his songwriting.

“There’s something about being far from home that makes you reflect on everything a bit differently,” he shares. “You start to realise how the smallest moments have actually shaped you. This EP is me processing that – looking back while still moving forward.”

The EP arrives just days after MAJOZI returned to South Africa on 23 March, following his Old School Tri-Nations Tour, which saw him perform from December 2025 to March 2026 across South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia – marking his first-ever shows in both New Zealand and Australia.

The release follows a milestone period in his career during 2025, including a sold-out show at the Baxter Theatre, a European tour with Easy Freak, and performances across Europe and Abu Dhabi. Despite his growing global reach, MAJOZI remains grounded in the authenticity and emotional connection that have defined his music from the start.

“This past year has been surreal in the best way,” he says. “I’ve played in places I used to dream about, but what’s been most special is seeing how the songs connect with people no matter where they are.”

With FLANNEL MUSIC, MAJOZI leans into the quiet, meaningful moments – the memories that linger, the people who shape us, and the feeling of looking back while continuing to move forward.

“I think these songs are about the in-between moments,” he adds. “The ones that don’t feel big at the time, but end up meaning everything later. If people can hear themselves somewhere in these tracks, then that’s all I could ask for.”
