Milk tart recipe

What’s your favourite sweet treat?

Mine is a freshly made milktart.

Today is #milktartday so I’m sharing my milk tart recipe

Milk Tart

1 cup castor sugar

150g butter

2 cups cake flour

5ml baking powder

5ml salt

3 eggs

1 litre fresh milk

20ml cinnamon powder

15ml vanilla essence

4 tablespoons corn starch

Preheat oven to 180 degrees

In a bowl, cream half of your sugar and butter together.

Sift in the flour, baking powder and salt.

Add 1 egg and combine well.

Once the dough is mixed well, press down evenly into a tart tin.

Blind bake for 30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.

Set aside until completely cooled.

Next, in a pot, simmer milk, with half of the cinnamon powder and the remaining sugar, vanilla essence.
Lower the heat and add beaten eggs and cornstarch.

Whisk mixture continuously until thickened.

Cool it down.

Pour milk mixture into pastry shell.

Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon powder.

Wait for the tart to cool completely before serving
