Colour like the masters!
The Rupert museum in Stellenbosch often share the many activities they host and we’ve joined for several since Hamish was a baby.
One of our favourites are their Museum Saturdays. These are often days where the museum host many activities centered around art.
Last Saturday we we joined their Colour like the Masters colouring activity.
This was a Saturday morning full of live music, gin tasting, workshops and activities for the whole family.
There were beautiful images laid out to choose from and tables decorated with pastels, markers and pencil crayons to allow you to sit quietly and colour.
The pictures to colour were all from prominent South African artists -Irma Stein, Maggie Laubser, and J.H. Pierneef.
Hamish loved this !
We chose an image and found our seats at an empty table to begin to colour.
I chose to let him create the colours he wanted instead of replicating the original as I wanted it to be fun, with no pressure.
We ended up colouring all 8 of the designs set out and I have a wonderful assortment of pictures to put up on our walls now.
After a great morning creating together, we then took a stroll around the gallery.
We can’t wait for the next museum Saturday. To find out more about Museum Saturday at The Rupert Museum go to www.rupertmuseum.co.za
