Cherry Berry Guest House Review

Brent had to see a client in George and so we packed up our school books for two days and took a road trip.

It’s not often that we can accompany him if he needs to stay overnight but as this was pretty close, ok …5 hours, from home, we took advantage of the opportunity.

Our accommodation

We were booked into Cherry Berry guest house. A luxurious selection of guest rooms that radiate the ambiance of a home away from home.
Cherry berry guest house is situated in the quiet upmarket suburb of George and nestled below the Outenique mountains along the Garden Route
On arrival, the first things that caught my eye were the lush green grass and the gorgeous array of flowers that line the edge of the garden.
Hamish immediately threw off his shoes and started doing cartwheels.
From our room, I could see him as he played on the grass whilst I offloaded our luggage.
A little later I joined him for a stroll around the garden and time to look at all the flowers.

Our room

The room we stayed in is equipped with all the essentials you need to be comfortable and for self-catering.
The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, cutlery, crockery, kettle, kitchen nook, sink, and coffee and teas supplied.
The bedroom had a double bed which was massive so instead of rearranging we decided to let Hamish bunk in with us because we all could fit on the soft bed. Large fluffy cushions and clean crisp linen invitingly welcome you alongside the gorgeous artwork on the walls.
There was also a TV, desk area or dressing area, and lounge chairs to relax on.
The bathroom only has a shower but with Cape Town water restrictions, these are handy. Basic toiletries and clean towels were supplied, however, we had as always taken our own.
There were enough plug points to charge phones and computers, but the guest house is not run by generators in event of load-shedding as I discovered.

Things to note

I felt very safe as the guest house is secure. Gates are remote with each guest given access and your cars are kept safe and stored inside the property.
Although there were several guests, it was quiet and peaceful. We heard no noise at all and at all times we had our privacy.
There was no specific play area or equipment for kids but the large open grass space is great for the kids to safely play.
Cherry Berry Guest House is a 3-star hotel with a 4.5 rating on Trip adviser.
