Gaming has seen a global explosion in popularity over the past couple of years or so with people being housebound, and with many also making a living out of this entertainment genre.
Playing to this growing trend and adding extra fun to the school holidays, Somerset Mall is set to be the centre of attraction from Friday 8 July to Sunday 10 July with a series of gaming tournaments, activations, and discounted gaming titles.
Entrance is free and the gaming fest can be found in the Food Court area.
Gaming Fest Times | Friday & Saturday, 9am – 7pm & Sunday, 9am – 5pm.
Prizes include a share of more than R20 000, as well as all-day free play on some of the latest games to hit screens.

TOURNAMENTS
Fortnite
- Highest-kills competition taking place on Saturday 9 July.
- No under 13’s. 13 to 16-year-olds need parental consent to participate.
- On-day registration only opens from 9am. No pre-registration available/ required. You can register throughout the day to compete.
- Top 3 Prizes: 1st R2500, 2nd R1500, 3rd R1000 Somerset Mall Gift Card.
Football Tournament
- 1v1 Tournament playing FIFA 22®️ taking place on Sunday 10 July.
- Open to all ages.
- Pre-registration via ACGL website, walk-in entries available. Pre-registration opens on 1 July.
- Limited to 64 players.
- On the day registration opens at 9am and the tournament starts at 10am.
- Top 3 Prizes: 1st R2500, 2nd R1500, 3rd R1000 Somerset Mall Gift Card.

There is more to the Gaming Fest than tournaments, as every day there will be a variety of competitions open for all to participate in.
