Lego Mercedes F1 car is touring South Africa

As a boy mom there are two things that dominate our home. The first is Lego. The second are cars.
So, when we discovered that a life size Lego Mercedes F1 car ( W 14 model)was touring South Africa we naturally had to see ot when it got to Cape Town.

The car, weighing 913kgs and made from 192 037 Lego blocks is 5.1 meters long. It is an exact, detailed replica of George Russels car.
This impressive model is designed to highlight to fans the sports engineering.

The nationwide tour is a part of Lego South Africa’s initiative to promote creativity as well as celebrate the partnership between Lego and Mercedes- AMG.

At the activation fans are encouraged to take selfie with the race car model as well as the racing car Lego mascots.
Visitors can also engage in building their own race cars and test their reaction time in a driver race challenge.
