Alignment
Do you choose a word of the year? What is your word for 2026?
Mine is alignment!
I’ve chosen a word of the year for as long as I can remember. For many years, I held onto the same word …FIDEM, which means Faith. I even have this one tattooed on my left wrist as a reminder that when nothing goes right I have my faith left.
Last year, my word was INTENTIONAL.
I became intentional about every aspect of my life. Who I had in my circle, the words I spoke, where I spent my time and my focus on my work.
At the end of the year I was able to look back and see how the universe had first removed the people in my circle who had been using me , those whose friendships were not genuine.
How, with me becoming intentional, speaking my truth and setting my boundries I was immediately able to determine who had earned the friendship, trust, loyalty and my time that I so freely give.
I also became intentional with my time and achieved more of my personal bucket list, our family goals and my work goals.
I became intentional about the words I spoke. Speaking my truth more often, worrying less about if my honesty upset those around me. This was liberating. It naturally upset those who had become too used to me agreeing for peace.
Becoming intentional meant I set a lot of personal boundries. It meant I only compromised if it was mutual and beneficial and it meant I upset a lot of people who had honestly, now that I re-examine many of the situations taken advantage of me and my kindness.
But becoming intentional was the best thing I’ve done.
It reminded me to set boundries,guard my time, stay true to myself and my beliefs and work hard for the goals and dreams I set for myself.
So, this year, when choosing a word I wanted to go with intentional again however, the truth is that my year of intention was the groundwork to focus on much bigger things for myself and so my word for 2026 is alignment.
By setting my foundation I need to now align with those who share my visions and viewpoints. With like-minded individuals both professionally and personally.
I’m excited for this year. I’m excited to see where it brings me.
I’m excited to see the new opportunities, collaborations and friendships that emerge from a feeling of alignment.
But
Mostly I’m excited to implement that sense of alignment into my blog. I’m excited to share more of me, more of my values and more of the things that make me happy and excited.
This blog started as a way to share my ideas. To educate, encourage and inspire others and to document my motherhood journey.
Somewhere along the line, as much as I’ve tried to stay as authentic as I can, the “influencer ” world has had a significant impact on the blogs posted.
I’m looking forward to working with brands who we truly align with, sharing stories of those who are like minded , of pure authenticity and of returning my blog to the vision I first held for it.
Hold on 2O26 ….it’s going to be a fun ride.
