Microwave puffy paint recipe

I often find over the years that I gave many tried and tested recipes that just work, both at home and in the classroom.

Like this microwave puffy paint recipe that was one of the first recipes I ever shared on my Fun Mamma SA Facebook page way back in 2012 .

It’s lots of fun and the kids have always enjoyed watching their artwork gain a raised effect.

Why not give it a try?

MICROWAVE PUFFY PAINT RECIPE

1 tblsp salt

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 tblsp plus 1 tsp of water

food colouring

method

  • Mix all the ingredients together.
  • Paint onto paper.
  • Put the painting into the microwave for 20 seconds. Do not leave the microwave unattended during that time.
  • Carefully remove the painting and observe the wonderful transformation!

Be careful when removing as the paint may be hot when it is first removed from the microwave
