Hamish, Brent and I recently visited this beloved little train for a morning of sunshine, sea views and nostalgic moments.
Located on Beach Road in Mouille Point, Cape Town, The Blue Train Park is an iconic seaside playground offering fun for the whole family.
Here you can enjoy a miniature train ride as well as jungle gyms, a dirt-bike track, and picnic spots.
The Blue Train Park has been a fixture of the Cape Town coastline for over 60 years. Originally established in 1958, it was designed as a charming seaside recreational area for children.
Over the decades, it has become a generational favorite and a cherished landmark on the Atlantic Seaboard.
Today, she stands proudly waiting for adults and children to enjoy her gentle trips around the park.
Reasons to visit the Blue Train Park
The Blue Train offers :-
Scenic Views: Because the park is situated less than 25 meters from the Atlantic Ocean, guests can enjoy scenic views of the ocean, Robben Island, Table Mountain, and Lion’s Head.
Play Facilities: Alongside the legendary “Old Lady” mini blue train, the 10,000-square-meter park features jungle gyms, a cement push-bike track, a zipline, swings, and an astro-turf soccer pitch.
Parties & Events: The venue offers dedicated party seating areas with tables, chairs, and umbrellas. Visitors are welcome to bring their own food, drinks, and decor (no alcohol or open fires).
Operating Times :-
Wednesdays – Sundays: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (the last train leaves at 5:30 PM).
Mondays & Tuesdays: Closed.
Note: The park may also close on extremely windy or rainy day

Park Access + 1 Train Ride: R85 per person
