Spectators can make their way to the Green Point Fan Walk to get a glimpse of the beautiful floats and performances.
Somerset Road transforms into a vibrant parade stage as it closes to traffic at 2pm.
But you will want to secure your spot early for the grand 6pm start and enjoy the magic FOR FREE from the best viewpoints along the route!
The parade starts at P12 (Green Point circle) on the Fan Walk, near the iconic DHL Stadium, and heads towards town, ending at Chiappini Street.
This is an invitation to witness the heart and soul of Cape Town in a night filled with creativity, community, and celebration. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience.
Theme
This year’s theme is ” Lekker ”
To convey the theme and bring across the essence of our unique South African spirit brought to life, every float and performance is a celebration of joy, wonder, and exhilaration.
Floats
There are ten incredible floats and performers that will capture the weird, wacky, and wonderfully LEKKER worlds:

Each float will weave its own unique tale through mesmerizing performances, music, and visuals as you get ready to be transported to a realm where ‘Lekker’ is not just a feeling but the foundation of a fantastical reality.
Carnival villiage
You can dive into the Heart of the Festivities at the Carnival Villages.
Get ready for an unforgettable pre-parade experience starting at 3pm!
Indulge in delicious food, sip on your favourite drinks, enjoy a DStv activation and a stellar lineup of entertainment in Carnival Village 1.
Carnival Village 1 is situated at P12 near Somerset Circle has entertainment on the stage between 3pm-6pm.
Carnival Village 2 is situated at Gallows Hill – the Green Point Traffic Department’s parking lot – and has an array of delicious food and drinks.
And the party doesn’t stop there! Keep the vibes going with our post-parade DJ set in Carnival Village 1 from 9pm-11:45pm.
Music & Entertainment
The heart of Cape Town’s music scene, YoungstaCpt, aka Mr. Lekker himself, is joining the Lekker Carnival. Experience the city’s vibes like never before as he performs his hit “Just Be Lekker” live on the “Schweet” float.
You will also be entertained by Hip hop dance crews – Atlantis All Stars and G squared, female vocalist – Karli Joy, the British Carnival band- Kinekita Bloko, male vocalist – Blessing Bayindu, Magician- Regardt Laubscher, Greek dance crew- Hellenic dancers and the talented Djs – DJ Tyson, DJ Shannon and DJ Liam.

Parking should be the last thing you are worrued about when attending the carnival and you can use these convenient parking options near the festivities:
