Have you seen the gorgeous Joy from Africa displays yet at V & A Waterfront?
If not, it’s highly recommended. I try every year to take in some time over the festive season at the Waterfront, just to see their handcrafted, creative, totally South African displays.
They are bright and relatable to our children as they mostly depict everyday life and objects our children know. Full of handcrafted bead and art work, the Christmas displays are both unique and a nice way for our children to see that although typically represented in snow and his heavy red suit, Santa visits Africa too.
The main display is in the centre court, however throughout the mall are stunning art works and movable mobiles. It’s easy to see why this is our favourite place to find the Christmas magic each year.
Santa is in town
So, head down to the Waterfront today because Santa is in town. He is spreading the festive magic and joy with his elves, at the centre court (next to H&M) every day until the 24th of December from 11:00-17:00.
Your child can have their photos taken with Santa and the Elves. There is no photographers on site, you simply stand in line and snap a few pictures.
Your child will also be given a book in their mother tongue ( I’m assuming while stock lasts) .
I love this. For many children books are few in their homes and even fewer in many of our other languages. How special to recieve a book written in your hone language. An absolute treasure gift.
These books are all from Book dash and can be seen represented on the panels of the Joy from Africa displays. Hamish was overjoyed to find his little book on the wall.
This is a Christmas activation not to miss.
