Alice in wonderland at Canal walk

We were invited to the premier of The Canal Walk Children’s theatre production of Alice in Wonderland.

I absolutely love Canal walk’s annual children’s theatre production and it’s become part of our holiday traditions to add these shows to our must do list.

If you haven’t yet taken the kids to see one, I highly recommend it. The productions are some of the best theatre you will see with amazingly talented actors who truly bring the story to life.

The scripts are written for children to enjoy, engage and understand, with lots of participation encouraged. You often find little ones dancing or cheering along.

The music and visuals are beautifully fused to bring all of the magic together and each year, we’ve attended for the last 4 productions, gets better.

Premier of Alice in Wonderland

Falling through the looking glass we arrived at the door of the Queen of hearts castle, which was guarded by the card guards outside.

Once inside the Cheshire cat beamed down at us from his luminous space on the Wall and all at once we remembered that we were in Wonderland as wonderful treats and drinks were handed to us.

After collecting some of the nibbles on offer, including the most beautifully decorated biscuits, we took our seat and waited for the magic to start on stage.

The show was amazing ! With vibrant costumes, fabulous backdrops and creative visuals, the entire family will enjoy this high energy, entertaining and engaging musical.

Isabella Jane shines in the role of this unique recreation of Lewis Caroll’s Alice. I am a huge fan of her work and have had the opportunity to view some of her adult productions as well. She has an absolutely powerful voice.

The production has a star studded, super talented and versatile cast. It’s almost hard to believe that the 55 minute show with numerous characters, scene changes and non stop entertainment only has 5 actors !

I was as always blown away and Hamish loved watching a story he knows so well come to life in front of him.
